We follow the Phenix City School District grading policy.
Your child will receive grades for work completed in the resource classroom. The grades will be averaged with grades from the general education classroom. Each student has an individualized model or grading standard set forth within their IEP. If you are unsure of how your child’s grades will be averaged, please see me. Your child will receive grades in the areas of reading, math, and language from the resource room. Classwork grades consist of a mixture of guided and independent practice in a small group setting. When your child demonstrates satisfactory mastery level as listed on his/her IEP goals and objectives, he/she will move to the next text level of instructions. All students will complete social studies and science in the general education setting and helped in the resource room as needed. Accommodations will be provided in accordance with IEP guidelines. Make Up WorkI will collaborate with your child’s general education teacher to ensure that assignments needed to be made up are completed in a timely manner. We will abide by the guidelines for making up missed assignments as outlined by the general education teacher.
